Charlotte is Hiho’s Marketing & Socials Manager and joined the team full time last year, after completing her university placement with Hiho in 2024.
Now, I can’t really sit here and write this email as though I (Charlotte!) am not the one writing it, it would feel very odd to write about myself in the 3rd person!
So, I’m going to switch things up slightly and introduce myself instead…
So hi, I’m Charlotte and I look after our day-to-day marketing and social channels,
sharing what goes on behind the scenes and helping to tell the Hiho story as it unfolds.
I grew up in the Somerset countryside with horses, dogs, and Hiho woven into everyday life. My mum wore Hiho jewellery throughout my childhood, and my first piece of silver was a gift from my Dad, bought from Andrew at Gatcombe Horse Trials.
Looking back, it’s no surprise Hiho and what it represents has always felt familiar to me!
Now part of the team (pinch me!), I work closely with everyone across the business
to make sure what we share reflects the people, the craft, and the way of life at the heart of Hiho.
It’s really lovely to finally say hello properly 💜
P.S – I hope you’re liking my posts!
GET TO KNOW CHARLOTTE
Charlotte, please tell us what your role is at Hiho and how long have you worked for us?
I am the Marketing and Socials Manager for Hiho (still feels weird saying that!) and I have been with them since the summer of 2024 when I began as a placement student from the RAU.
Where in the UK are you based and what do you love most about living there?
I am based in Somerset and have been all my life, I love the accessibility of Somerset - we have an abundance of countryside; not too far from multiple coastlines and have easy access to my favourite cities - London and Bath!
What part of your work do you enjoy the most day to day?
I love the creativity of my job, no day is the same which is perfect for a busy brain like mine!
What is your go to piece of Hiho for any occasion?
My Cherry Rollers come everywhere with me, dress them up or down I find they finish off every outfit perfectly. I got my first one for my 18th from my Granny so it holds a special place in my heart (and on my wrist!).
What does a perfect Sunday in the countryside look like to you?
My perfect Sunday would begin with a nice lie in (for as long as the horses allow!), followed by a long walk on the hills with my Lab Wills that ideally leads to the local pub for a yummy roast! Then back to sort the horses for the evening and swiftly collapse on the sofa watch a good series - I'm not a big film fan!
What's one countryside tradition you love and would never give up?
Every year, for as long as I can remember, we have gone to the Easter Monday Point to Point, affectionately known as a 'Boot to Boot' in our household! We enjoy a mammoth picnic from the back of the Landy, catch up with loads of friends and see the odd horse... I love it!
You're in a bakery, they have every single yummy item you could dream of - what are you choosing?
Oh my goodness that's a tough one as I have a very sweet tooth but if I had to pick it would probably be a good old slice of cake. Maybe a coffee and walnut, or carrot, or Victoria Sponge, or lemon drizzle... honestly anything!
QUICK FIRE QUESTIONS
Wellies, Walking Boots or Riding Boots? Wellies for practicality but my riding boots are like old friends.
