Last  week you got to know our wonderful Countess of Contentment, Michelle.

This week, we’re putting another face to a name and voice you may also recognise...

Introducing, Hiho's brilliant Duchess of Sterling,
Amanda Thorne!

Based in the office with us, Amanda looks after our accounts — but her role reaches far beyond the numbers. From helping pack orders and supporting customer services, to engraving your pieces and lending a hand with the Cherry Roller, she’s very much part of the rhythm of daily life at Hiho.

Amanda brings care, precision, and a willingness to roll up her sleeves wherever she’s needed. Whether she’s balancing the books or adding those final personal touches before an order heads out the door, she takes real pride in doing things properly.

We would be lost without her!

GET TO KNOW AMANDA...

Amanda, please tell us what your role is at Hiho and how long you have worked of us?
I have been working for Hiho for 15 years. I have several roles in the office; my main role is the accounts.  I am also the jewellery engraver, and I make the bespoke Cherry Rollers when they are ordered via the website.
Where in the UK are you based and what do you love most about living there?
I am based in Somerset; I have lived here my whole life and love it.  The countryside is where I enjoy spending my time.

What part of your work do you enjoy most day-today?
My day can be very varied as I do a range of different jobs, I can be doing spreadsheets one minute and then engraving a silver bangle the next.

What is your go to piece of Hiho for any occasion?
I love my Foxtail bracelet as I enjoy collecting all the different coloured beads and charms so I can really make it unique to me.
What does a perfect Sunday in the countryside look like to you?
My perfect Sunday is starting the day with a walk with Nellie, followed by either some reading or completing one of my many diamond arts while listening to country music – most likely Dolly Parton.
What's one countryside tradition you love and would never give up?
I do love a Country show, but a tradition my family started a couple of years ago is going to the New Year's Day Tractor run, we love looking at all the tractors old and new.
You're in a bakery, they have every single yummy item you could dream of - what are you choosing?
My go to bakery treat would always be a piece of Australian Crunch.

QUICK FIRE QUESTIONS

Wellies, Walking Boots or Riding Boots?
Walking boots

Never have to do gardening/yard chores again or never have to clean the house again?
I would say gardening as I don't have green fingers at all.

Spontaneous plans or well-worn routines?
I do love my routines, but I don't mind a spontaneous plan thrown in every now and again.

Early starts or slow evenings?
I think it must be early starts as I like getting up and starting the day.

Horses or dogs?
Definitely dogs, I have one and she is my absolute world.
Thank you so much Amanda!

We hope you all enjoyed getting to know our wonderful Duchess of Sterling.
We can't wait to see you next week where we'll be introducing the next member of our team!

See you then!
Team Hiho xx
