Stir Up Sunday occurs on the last Sunday before Advent, and it's a day dedicated to the making of the Christmas Pudding. Families huddle in the kitchen and begin whipping up the mixture of dried fruit, tipple of choice and a few other staple pantry items. This Victorian tradition, named after a line from The Book of Common Prayer, signifies the day we all don our aprons and get busy. Today, Stir Up Sunday 2025 calls you to the kitchen.
Warm up the oven, get the dried fruit from your pantry, and be ready for some serious stirring!
In the spirit of tradition, stir your pudding from East to West to honour the Three Wise Men and pass the mixing spoon around to give the mix a stir whilst sneaking a secret wish - a sprinkle of Hiho Christmas magic?
