Meet the Team: Nathalie Arnold

Meet the Team: Nathalie Arnold
We're coming to the end of our Meet the Team Series, and today's introduction is a blog exclusive (lucky you!).

We're thrilled to introduce to you our wonderful Marquise of Marketing, Nathalie!

Nathalie supports our marketing and design work across the business and has been a part of Team Hiho for nearly 20 years. Working largely behind the scenes (and screens!), she plays an important role in shaping how our collections and shows are presented.

From preparing our newsletters to supporting the design of our show stands, Nathalie brings consistency, experience, and a clear eye for detail to everything she does.
Her work helps ensure that what you see, whether in print or in person, feels considered and true to the Hiho name.

Read on and get to know Nathalie a little more in her own words.

Get to Know Nathalie

Nathalie, please tell us what your role is at Hiho and how long you have worked for us?
Even though I’m self-employed, I’ve been working with Hiho for nearly twenty years now - long enough to feel like a true part of the Hiho team. I look after all things marketing and design, whether I’m crafting eye-catching show displays, developing our latest email campaigns, or jumping onto any creative project that comes my way.
I’m also a big fan of diving into data analysis. It’s a busy, varied role that certainly keeps me on my toes.

Where in the UK are you based and what do you love most about living there?
I'm lucky enough to call the “forgotten corner” of Cornwall my home, and I'm completely in love with the area. It's stunningly beautiful. The best part for me is being surrounded by water - it genuinely feels like island living, yet I'm just a quick ferry ride from the UK's Ocean City, whenever I fancy a bit of city buzz.
Plus, we've got two gorgeous national parks right on our doorstep and it's also perfect to indulge in some sea swimming with so many amazing locations to choose from.

What part of your work do you enjoy the most day to day?
I’m always up for a challenge so whether it's looking for new solutions, creating something from scratch, or just getting my brain cells going, I’m right in my element. Ultimately, what I love most is helping people—if I can make someone’s day a little easier, it truly makes me happy.

What is your go to piece of Hiho for any occasion?
I've been wearing my Cherry Roller for years - ever since we launched the exclusive design - it’s still one of my favourites and looks as good now as it did at the start. Even though I’m not an equestrian myself, I absolutely love the unique style. It looks fantastic on its own and pairs perfectly with my more classic bracelets for a stacked look. But did you know that Hiho is also a phone call away from designing your dream piece? I really wanted to get my daughter something extra special for her 18th birthday, and Hiho delivered... They created a gorgeous custom ring using her birthstone colours, and honestly, she hasn’t taken it off since.

What does a perfect Sunday in the countryside look like to you?
My perfect Sunday usually begins with a refreshing long walk at our local beach with my husband and our young Labrador, Tilly. Then, we have a lot to look after at home—ranging from our woodland and fields to the finishing touch renovating our old mill we are passionate about —so there is always a job to do.
It can be hard work, but it is incredibly rewarding too.

What's one countryside tradition you love and would never give up?
Our village pub! Our local pub might be small, but its authentic charm makes it the perfect gathering spot where we can all hang out, share stories, and just chill out together. It’s also a place we gather to celebrate traditions from the Apple Festival in the Autumn to Morris dancing and sea shanty events.

You're in a bakery, they have every single yummy item you could dream of - what are you choosing?
That’s a tough one because I actually bake a lot of things myself. From my daily sourdough bread (using a French starter I’ve had for over 20 years!) to all sorts of pastries and cakes, I rarely visit a bakery. But if I had to pick just one treat, it would definitely be a warm cinnamon roll. It instantly takes me back to my time living in the US.

Quick Fire Questions

Wellies, Walking Boots or Riding Boots?
Wellies! I am a huge fan of the short Aussie style -
they're super comfy, practical, and definitely my go-to every single day.

Never have to do gardening/yard chores again
or never have to clean the house again?
"Never have to do gardening again" would definitely never happen at our house, it never ends! But if someone wanted to take over the house cleaning for me...
I'd say yes in a heartbeat!

Spontaneous plans or well-worn routines?
A mix of both works best for me.
Routine helps me manage my busy work schedule
and our lively young Labrador Tilly,
but I definitely appreciate those unexpected, spontaneous moments
that pop up - they make life so much more fun.

Early starts or slow evenings?
I'm definitely an early riser!
My day always begins with an early walk or a sunrise sea swim.
I just love watching the countryside wake up -
whether it's a herd of deer grazing in the morning light,
a barn owl silently gliding over the fields, or a beautiful golden fox trotting by...
even if the peace is usually broken when Tilly finds something
"interesting" to roll in from the night before!

Horses or dogs?
Definitely dogs for me!
While I think horses are absolutely beautiful, they've always made me a little nervous.
Even back when we lived in Somerset and we had a pony for our daughter,
I often had to call my wonderful friend Clem (our Queen of the Road)
to come to my rescue whenever things got a bit too overwhelming!

So, that signifies the end of out Meet the Team series, well the two legged members anyway...

There may be a little extra instalment of our Meet the Team dropping on Sunday
(hint, they have four legs not two!).

See you then!
Team Hiho xx
