All about Becky

Becky, tell us a bit about yourself - what do you do, where are you from, your eventing aspirations for the 2023 season, where we can find you online when you’re not on horseback!
Hello! I’m Becky Wren from @becky_wren or you can check out my award winning blog www.countrybumpkinchic.co.uk where I share my west country tales from my countryside, coastal and equestrian life in Dorset.
By day I’m an Internal Communications Manager for a large Trade & DIY retailer based in Somerset, where no day is the same. I work with a great bunch of people which makes the day whizz by.
When I’m not working you can usually find me out riding one of my two Irish Sport Horses – Barley (19) or Leo (9).
This year Leo will be competing at British Eventing 100 and the aim is to have a consistent season, and progress with our show jumping. We’re very lucky to have some wonderful venues in the west country.
What do you do in your spare time when you’re not eventing horses?
When I’m not on a horse, you’ll find me paddleboarding somewhere on the Jurassic Coast, it’s a great way to escape the busyness of life and get a moment of calm, as well as seeing lots of beautiful scenery.
What is your ultimate Hiho love (favourite piece from the Hiho collection) and why?
I’m a magpie for anything turquoise from the Hiho collection and have a lot of vintage turquoise pieces. However, my daily go to piece of jewellery is the silver bumble bee necklace which goes with any outfit.
What is your go to Hiho trot up piece from the Hiho Silver collection and why?

I love dressing up for a trot up, and took part in the 3 Day at Bicton in 2021.
My go to was the cherry roller bracelet and necklace – obviously with the turquoise bead which looked super smart.

And finally - what is the best piece of advice you have received when it comes to eventing?
When it comes to competing horses, try not to get caught up in what other people are doing on social media. Concentrate on you and your horse’s journey. We’re all on different paths and remember to enjoy the process.
