Dorchester is the county town of Dorset a historic market town which lies on the banks of the River Frome. Dorchester's roots go back to prehistoric times the earliest settlements were around Maiden Castle a large Iron Age Hill Fort where different tribes people lived from around 4000BC. In 70AD The Romans took over Dorchester from the tribes people and with that came great changes and ruins that can be seen today. They are Maiden Castle, Maumbury Rings, Foundations of a town house and of course the County Museum where these can be looked at detail.
Through the years Dorchester has always been a thriving market town and today is no different with the variety of shops, cafes and history in abundance.
Hiho is situated in the famous little cobbled walkway Antelope Walk the name is derived from the Antelope Walk hotel which was one of the towns main coaching inns. It is where the feared Judge Jefferies stayed and ruled over his court room which is only a few doors down from Hi ho in The Oak Tea Room.
Working for Hiho is amazing the silver jewellery and aluminium home ware are so unique. When you step in it's like an aladdins cave shiny and bright and your eyes will not know where to start first. Pop in and see Karen who is the Store Manager and who looks forward to welcoming each and every one of you to the store and help you find that very special present or just a little treat to yourself.
Some of my favourite designs are Bobbly, Multi Link and Pearl & Knot. These are timeless pieces which look amazing for an evening out or shopping with friends. Our Home ware is partly made from recycled aluminium cans and the heart trinket dishes and scoop bowls are a must for any dressing table or sideboard and we now stock the Doris & Co English Creamware Mugs, Jugs and Cheeseboards.
