Style, Skills & Silver – getting to know Emma Warren

In the second of our #styleskillsandsilver series we have Hiho Silver’s very own Queen Bee, Emma Warren. Emma is Managing Director of Hiho Silver and also runs an award winning glamping shepherd’s hut called Dimpsey, and lots of others things too! Find out a bit more about her here…

What do you particularly enjoy about your business or blog?

I absolutely love that we can have ideas and make them happen – and that I get to hang out with lots of lovely people along the way.  I decided a long time ago that I would work towards only doing work that I love – and most of the time, I’m there and I couldn’t be happier.

What are you looking forward to sharing during the Hiho SSS event

Errrr do I have to share the cake?? I know you said we should but…

Seriously though, I am looking forward to talking to people about what we do at Hiho & why, what they love doing & why as well as sharing how liberating it is to pack your self-doubt away in a suitcase and just have a go at things???? 

What’s your superpower? 

Ohhh that’s a good question – I think it’s my intuition and willingness to go for it even if everyone else says it’s bonkers, (but at the innovative rather than foolhardy level I hope!)

What’s something you’re not so good at?

Believe it or not, I’m not actually that good at drawing – so my jewellery designs need to be accompanied by an explanation???? I can see things in my head but it never turns out quite as well on paper.  I am what one could term third-party creative – I can brief it in and tell you exactly what I need, getting me to do it is not a good idea!

What are you looking forward to learning/seeing at SSS?

Meeting people and sharing tips & ideas plus being in such a lovely inspiring place. Oh, and of course, the cake

One thing we might not know about you?

I trained as an Accountant and can key numbers in on a calculator at lightning speed.

What are you most proud of?

My family – I’m nothing without them.

Any advice for anyone coming to SSS?

Please relax and enjoy it – it’s always daunting coming somewhere on your own, but the lovely Sarah will be there to greet you and then it’s straight into coffee -  we’ll be nervous too!

Tea or coffee?

Tea – in a Doris mug obviously!

Favourite cake?

Mr W’s Victoria Sponge that he bakes for our Dimpsey Shepherd’s Hut – delicious!

Something you can’t live without?

I am sad to say my phone – I wish it wasn’t the case, but I’m trying not to eat chocolate at the moment, so it has to be the phone.

No filter if the photo is good enough!

Have you thought about what you’re wearing for the event? Any hints or tips for anyone attending?

It was the first thing that Melanie at Mackenzie & George and I thought of!  We’re going to be wearing something that we feel comfy in, we’ve drawn the line at PJ’s but you can bet there will be M&G, Fairfax and Hiho involved. 

Here’s my tip if you’re attending, and the word style in the title is making you worry about what to wear – please don’t think you have to come and be super stylish, we just want you to have a lovely time and there will be lots of people there having the same thoughts – us included #wardrobedilemmas
