All about Sophie

 

Hello! My name is Sophie Preston, I’m a Management Consultant based in Surrey, I’ve recently bought a house with my fiancé Jonny in Virginia Water which we plan on decorating throughout 2023. We live here with our 11mth old boxer puppy Betty (who won ‘Best Puppy’ and ‘Reserve Best in Show’ at the local village fete’ on the weekend!)

What do you do in your spare time & what you get up to offline?

When I’m not trying to step up the career ladder (in a male dominated world) you can find me galloping round Windsor Great Park (quite literally!) with my horse Harvey (a 17.1hh, 14yo Belgian Warmblood) or popping over coloured poles; we’re aiming for Hickstead next month representing our riding club in the teams event. When I’m not working on Harvey’s fitness, I’m working on my own - I rejoined CrossFit at the beginning of the year and it’s been a great way to also meet new friends. 

What is your ultimate Hiho love (favourite piece from the Hiho collection) and why?

My favourite Hiho piece is the Double Snaffle Bracelet, my parents bought it for me last year and had it engraved with ‘Carpe Omnia’ which means to ‘seize it all’ - a mantra that I apply to pretty much most aspect of my life! I wear it everyday and always get compliments, plus everyone knows I’m a crazy horse girl before I open my mouth!

You went travelling around Indonesia, that must have been amazing, do you have any more plans to travel? Do you have any tips for anyone wanting to travel?

Indonesia was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to travel! It felt super safe as a female and I know lots of ‘girl groups’ choose Indonesia as a place to travel and visit. The people there are so friendly and the views.. well they speak for themselves! Breathtaking! It’s also where I got engaged! My fiancé proposed in Ubud overlooking the jungle. Next on our travel list is a cruise round the Mediterranean with his family celebrating their next milestone birthdays - it’ll be my first cruise so I’m not quite sure what to expect! Whenever we go away we make an itinerary so we don’t wake up and go “well what shall we do today” and then waste the morning looking! It doesn’t need to be by the hour, but just an overview of the thinks we’ll visit and when.
