All About Mandy

Today we are catching up with Mandy who you may otherwise know from her Instagram @mandy_from_staffordshire or her Fairfax & Favor Fabulous Finery Facebook Group.

We love seeing all her gorgeous outfits and fashion styling tips, and the fact that she always has time to help people out with advice and support.

Mandy  tell us a bit about yourself, what do you do, where are you from, where we can find you online and what makes you tick?

I’m Mandy and I work full time for the NHS, a job which ticks every box for me. It’s a privilege to work on an acute psychiatric ward, it’s a rollercoaster of emotions. Joy (when patients are on the right road to recovery) and sorrow sometimes. But we live by the mantra that every day’s a new day and we keep looking forward and take the good bits with us. I love my work family dearly, we’re a team through thick and thin.
What do you do in your spare time & what you get up to offline?

Away from work my first love is my family and time spent with my children is wonderful. We’re avid fans of live music (huge fans of the Rolling Stones) and if we’re not going to concerts, you’ll find us eating (yes, we’re all foodies) or exploring the countryside (we’re big supporters of the National Trust).

What is your ultimate Hiho love (favourite piece from the Hiho collection) and why?

My passion in life will always be fashion and I love the country boho vibe. I’ve been a fan of the brand Hiho Silver for a long time and I have a few very cherished pieces. I love the silver stirrup bangle for its simplicity and it’s so comfortable.

The stunning cluster Fairfax & Favor necklace with the iconic Fairfax Regina boot and the famous Fairfax shield is also a favourite of mine!

We love seeing all your different outfits on instagram, can you give us any styling tips?

Comfort in fashion is key to my personal style. If you feel ‘at home’ wearing an outfit, you’ll look natural and relaxed. My adage is to buy the best you can afford and shop smart, even consider preloved for a more sustainable way of clothes buying.

And finally - what is the best piece of advice you have received?

I’m 56 and throughout life I’ve been given lots of advice, some of it incredibly useful and I’ve followed it but the most useful piece of advice I’ve ever been given is ‘whatever you do, give it 100%’
