Today we are speaking to Amanda, founder of 3donkeys and inventor of unique, two-piece functional, feminine and fabulous coveralls. Designed by a woman for women, these ladies coveralls have all the practicalities women need. They fit well, look fantastic, and have a level of hard-wearing, protective quality that’s second to none. They are the perfect addition to your working day in the yard.
A little birdie also told us that Amanda has just been listed as a finalist in the Innovation category of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards - congratulations Amanda!
Amanda is a good friend of Hiho & Co and always a big fan of Hiho jewellery.
Find out more about Amanda below.
I had the need for more practical coveralls (back in the lambing shed with a day old baby) for women and could not find anything. So I set about designing and registering my own and the 2into1 design was the outcome. Quality and longevity is at the heart of 3 Donkeys® and our coveralls and apparel.
Why the name 3 Donkeys?
When I was developing the business, I struggled with the name. At the time Dave the donkey had been born to Teabag and along with my poitou Woolly and donkeys are known for being hard working – just like my 2into1 coveralls. So that’s where the name comes from, my 3 donkeys.
What do you do in your spare time & what you get up to offline?
When I am not in 3DHQ (sounds much nicer than the reality which is the garage I share with 3 freezers), on the school run or feeding the cattle (I rear a few calves each year), you’ll find me either ambling about the lanes on my 13 year old cob mare Tia or walking the beach with my labradoodle (more labradiddle but that’s another story) Hattie.
What is your ultimate Hiho love (favourite piece from the Hiho collection) and why?
I am lucky to have been given for my birthday a few years ago the cherry roller set (bangle, necklace and earrings). It is a timeless collection and enhances any outfit. I wear to every event I attend both with 3 Donkeys® or as myself, including the House of Lords!
And finally - what is the best piece of business advice you have received?
Stay focused on your core business and do not deviate from it. Enhance it yet but stay true to it.
